Announcement - Dr. Krista Holmes

It is with mixed emotions, I am announcing that Dr. Krista Holmes will be leaving Humber to pursue an opportunity at George Brown College to become their new Director, Research and Innovation. The position will allow her to explore further professional development opportunities at a top tier polytechnic.

Krista joined Applied Research and Innovation at Humber in 2011 as Research Coordinator and progressively moved into senior roles until her appointment in 2016 as Associate Dean, Research & Innovation where she was accountable for the leadership, initiation, operational excellence and coordination of the applied research portfolio for the college. During her time in the Office of Applied Research & Innovation, Krista led many successful initiatives including establishing and managing research support services and staff, facilitating the development of academic school research plans, encouraging scholarly activities, supporting applied research projects and programming, and promoting College research initiatives to government, industry and the community.

Krista has contributed to various internal and external committees including her current appointment to College Council and her role as Chair of the Colleges Ontario Heads of Applied Research Ethics Subcommittee. Krista has also been actively engaged in advancing the governance and administration of research ethics in the Ontario college sector through numerous related policy and advocacy initiatives at the provincial level.

Krista’s last day at Humber will be Friday, April 6. Please join us in thanking Krista for her contributions to Humber and wishing her every success in her new role. A reception will be held on:
