The Office of Sustainability is excited to share Humber was awarded CICan’s Campus Living Lab Funding in March 2024 to develop a Biodiversity Plan.
The Plan will establish a Two-Eyed Seeing healthy landscape management plan for our campus green areas, as well as identify opportunities for emission reductions. The project will also position the campus as a living lab where students, staff, and faculty work together to create and test nature-based climate solutions.
The aim is to build a Biodiversity Plan that prioritizes Indigenous leadership and emissions reduction while creating academic opportunities through experiential teaching and learning. For this, the Office of Sustainability will collaborate and engage with community members across the campus.
The Biodiversity Plan aims to be completed by March 2025.
