Congratulations to Hamid Rezaeiyazdi

Please join me in congratulating Professor Hamid Rezaeiyazdi from the English Language Centre in the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, on the successful completion of his doctorate at the University of Toronto.  Hamid’s thesis is titled,

Dialogical Modernity: discursive practice and the development of non-European novel”  

Hamid’s degree is from a collaborative program at the University of Toronto that includes the Departments of Comparative Literature, Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations and English. As a result his committee and examiners reflect the collaborative nature of his program.  His thesis was supervised by Dr. Mohamad Tavakoli, Professor of History and Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Toronto and Dr. Paul Downes, Professor in the Department of English also at the University of Toronto.  The external examiner was Dr. Dominic Brookshaw, Professor at the Oriental Institute, University of Oxford where he teaches Persian language and Persian literature.
