Construction Work on North Campus Building N and E

As part of the Phase 1 implementation of Humber’s Integrated Energy Master Plan (IEMP), Facilities Management is replacing failing exterior building envelope with new systems with more insulation, triple pane windows and reduced thermal bridging. When complete, the buildings will be more comfortable, require less energy to heat and cool, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and won’t leak!

In 2017 we are working on North Campus Buildings N and E.

Construction has started May 8th and the majority of the work is anticipated to finish mid August 2017.

Building N: recladding construction

The first and second floor will be officially closed from 7:00 a.m. on May 25, 2017. The basement floor will have limited access, which will be by the elevator and exit stairs near NX as well as the entrance at the basement level on the East side of the Building.

Signage will be placed by the contractor to identify the closed areas and to direct staff and students to emergency exits.

The connection from the LRC to Building N at the second floor will be closed, the link to GH will remain open.

Please see attached plans indicating closures. It is anticipated that the closure will remain until mid August.

Building E: recladding construction

The exterior finish and windows will be removed and replaced with new windows and an exterior finish similar to Building F. The majority of the work will take place on the third and fourth floors but the Accounting Centre and the Business School will have scheduled minor disruptions. The building will not be closed. Signage will be placed by the contractor to identify the construction areas and to direct staff and students to emergency exits.
