COVID-19 Update: April 2, 2020

Humber campuses remain closed until further notice, but the North residence remains open. Humber has announced that all Summer term courses will be delivered online/remotely. We understand that some students may need to stay in residence past the end of their current agreement, which ends at 12 p.m. on April 18. Students currently living in residence will be permitted to extend their stay past April 18. Please note that services continue to be reduced in residence.

Summer residence will only be available at the North Campus and will only include private, suite-style rooms. This will mean one resident per suite with access to one bedroom, as well as private access to the kitchenette and bathroom.

The residence cafeteria will close as scheduled on April 18. Residents in suites will continue to be permitted to use smoke-free small appliances with automatic shut offs in their kitchenettes. Examples of these include instant pots, rice cookers, crockpots, coffee pots, kettles, etc. Induction cooktops are not permitted due to lack of ventilation in the kitchenettes.

In addition:

  • Lounges, studies, the fitness room, and the community kitchens remain closed.
  • Guests are not permitted until further notice.
  • Summer residence fees will posted on student’s MyHumber or WebAdvisor accounts, and will be due by July 1, 2020.
  • Students who are in financial need and who may require assistance paying for their residence fees or other items, such as small appliances to cook during the summer, may apply for emergency bursary funding by emailing finaid@humber.ca

Students wishing to stay past April 18 must complete the additional accommodations application on the residence portal by April 10. (Note – students currently living in residence that have already submitted this application do not need to complete it again.)
