Virtual Open House​

Humber will host its first-ever Virtual Open House on Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Open House will have a landing page that features video welcomes from the President, Senior Deans and the Dean of Students. The page will also have Faculty, Student Success and Services videos as well as videos from additional departments that are typically represented in the physical Open House. Tour videos of North and Lakeshore campus will also be featured.

In addition, this week, we are featuring an Instagram tour of Lakeshore campus as well as residence and an Instagram Ask Me Anything (AMA) with one of the Lakeshore Student Ambassadors. During the week of April 13, we will be featuring an Instagram tour of North campus as well as residence and an Instagram AMA with a North Student Ambassador.

Live presentations and chats will run live on April 18 and will later be posted to the Open House landing page: www.humber.ca/openhouse

Faculties, Recruitment, ITS and the Government Relations, Marketing and Communications teams are working together to support the Open House and its promotion. The Recruitment team is are also working with Faculties to help facilitate additional information sessions leading up to the May 1st Confirmation deadline.

Supporting students with Emergency Financial Aid 

At the end of March, the Ontario government announced additional funds to support emergency financial aid for students. The provincial funds allocated to Humber were combined with contributions from IGNITE student union and the College to provide financial support to students totaling more than $1,000,000.

To date, more than 5,000 applications have been received and more than 1,000 cheques were issued to students this week.
