Death/Funeral Announcement

October 9, 2015

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our esteemed colleague and friend Eric Dymond. Eric, a longstanding faculty member of the School of Media Studies & Information Technology passed away unexpectedly at home.

Always an innovator, Eric's student-centered approach to teaching and kind and compassionate demeanor, made him a very effective professor who earned the respect and affection of peers, staff and especially, students. Eric was a fantastic team player, always eager to collaborate with peers and students to continuously improve teaching and learning. He made invaluable contributions to the teaching of Information Technology subjects in our school. A talented and accomplished artist with a curious and analytical mind, Eric had that rare combination of right brain and left brain thinking that allowed him to effectively share his vast knowledge and creativity with his students and peers.

Eric's departure is a big loss for our school. He will be missed by many.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway on Monday from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. If desired, remembrances may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
