What will you add to Pride? 

Join in the conversation with the Humber community as the LGBTQ+ Resource Centre hosts our first #DisplayYourPride initiative to celebrate Pride Month at both the North and Lakeshore campuses! Beginning June 1st, we invite you to take a step on the creative side and ‘pride-ify’ your office or student space in the spirit of Pride and celebrate LGBTQ+ communities. 

We will be joining our colleagues at Ryerson, University of Toronto, York, and OCAD in this initiative, so let’s show everyone our Humber Hawk Pride! This event is a fabulous way to build awareness and create safer communities for LGBTQ+ folks across Humber.

To participate:

  • Decorate your office or student space in the spirit of Pride
  • Take a photo of your space and upload it to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags: #DisplayYourPride   #HumberLGBTQ   #WeAreProud
  • You can also follow us on Twitter and Instagram @HumberLGBTQ to see Humber’s Pride

This event is open to everyone, so join in and let loose! Remember - there are no limitations or expectations; let your creativity shine through. This is your Pride, your way.

The #DisplayYourPride initiative is open to everyone, but for those with a competitive spirit, there is one more way for you to get involved.

#DisplayYourPride CONTEST Guidelines:

  • The design of your space should encompass diversity and inclusion as per Pride Toronto’s theme  of “+”
  • Contest participants must email a photo of their space to LGBTQ@humber.ca by Wednesday, June 21st (in the subject line include your room number, campus, and indicate whether you are entering as an individual or group)
  • You must post your photo to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #DisplayYourPride AND #HumberLGBTQ AND #WeAreProud
  • The contest component is optional
  • There will be 1 individual and 1 group prize for each campus!

On Thursday, June 22nd we will be hosting a Display Your Pride Reception at the North and Lakeshore campuses where everyone is welcome to come and enjoy some snacks, connect with the Humber community and take a group photo.
