Employee Learning Resources

At Humber Polytechnic and the University of Guelph-Humber, we focus on life-long learning and delivering learning and development opportunities to our employees that allow them to excel personally and professionally. Employees thrive personally and professionally by acquiring new skills and abilities. As an evolving institution and learning how to develop new capabilities or upskilling, we encourage our faculty and staff to further their professional and personal development by taking advantage of these learning and development opportunities.  

LEARN 

All active employees have access to LEARN, our new and improved learning management system (LMS) hosted within the Human Resource Management System (HRMS). Our LEARN catalogue is extensive and includes offerings for an array of professional skills. Please see the attached list of trending professional development topics and skills for 2024 and our available offerings within LEARN. 

We encourage everyone to explore LEARN, browse the extensive catalogue, and enroll into courses that will help you to meet your professional development goals. To access LEARN please log into the HRMS and under the ‘Me’ tab click on the ‘LEARN’ icon to get started.

Discounted Courses – Humber Polytechnic and University of Guelph-Humber 

Eligible employees can take courses offered by Humber and the University of Guelph-Humber for a discounted tuition rate of $20.

For information on eligible courses at the University of Guelph-Humber (UGH) and how to apply, please contact Admission Services at admissions@guelphhumber.ca or at 416.798.1331 x6056. Please note employees are required to pay an application fee. More details can be found on the UGH Application Procedures website.  

Discounted General Public Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Courses

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)  

Tuition assistance is available to employees for certificate, diploma, degree, doctoral programs and/or professional association courses taken at an accredited post-secondary institution or professional association. For more information about eligibility, what is covered, and how to apply, please visit the Tuition Reimbursement & Scholarships section on the People(s) & Culture website.  

Important Notes:  

  • Courses completed during the 2024-2025 fiscal year (April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025) must be submitted for TAP reimbursement within the fiscal year they were completed.  
  • The deadline to submit Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) reimbursement claims (2024-2025 fiscal year) is March 14, 2025. This is to meet the fiscal year deadlines.
