The Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 (Bill 148) was passed on November 27, 2017 and the legislation resulted in a number of changes to the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA). Many provisions came into effect on January 1, 2018 and April 1, 2018 or will take effect January 1, 2019. Humber supports the intentions of Bill 148 and is working to meet the requirements of the legislation.
