Humber Archives Celebrates Archives Awareness Week

April 2 to 5, 2024 is the Archives Association of Ontario’s annual Archives Awareness Week. As part of this event, we would like to share nine exciting new collections the Humber College Archives team have catalogued over the past academic year.

  1. Wayson Choy archives: Explore a collection of research materials and unpublished works by the author and Humber faculty member.
  2. Registrar’s Office archives: (updated): Over four metres of documents, which include course calendars and viewbooks up to 2023.
  3. Humber Today archives: A series of physical newspapers from 1995-2007, digitized and catalogued.
  4. Institutional Planning and Analysis archives: Adding to our collection of annual reports, this especially highlights strategic planning work from 2008-2023.
  5. Student publication archives (updated): Over 1,400 issues of student journalism going back to 1968 can be explored online.
  6. Humber video recording collection (updated): A collection of digitized recordings from the 1980s and 1990s.
  7. President John Davies fonds: A collection of photographs from Humber’s third President (2008-2012).
  8. University of Guelph-Humber viewbooks: A collection of material promoting Guelph-Humber from 2002-2023.
  9. A 16mm film print of an Oscar-nominated documentary by a faculty member in the 1970s. Stay tuned for details about an upcoming on-campus screening.

To explore these collections and more, we invite you to visit the Archives in person at North Campus (on the fourth floor of the LRC), open for drop-ins between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday or email archives@humber.ca to ask us any questions you have.
