Humber College Community Partnership Fund
Now Accepting Applications

Humber College Schools/Departments are invited to develop and submit proposals for innovative and engaging initiatives with local community non-profit organizations

This funding opportunity supports projects, events and small demonstration projects delivered in the Winter and Summer semesters.

Proposals funded through this initiative provide the opportunity for academic schools and administrative departments to further cultivate relationships with partners and stakeholders – bringing the community to Humber and taking Humber into the community in support of Humber’s new Strategic plan.

The priority of these initiatives is to enhance the lives of local children, youth, Aboriginal peoples, newcomers and other groups who would benefit from projects/events that enrich learning and increase exposure and access to post-secondary educational possibilities. These might include pathways into education, training and/or employment and/or building organizational capacity of community agencies who share this same focus.

Proposals that are collaboratively developed with community partners from the initial stages of conceptualization to implementation are highly encouraged. These jointly designed and developed endeavours are expected to foster community engagement and involvement in order to address identified community needs.

Humber student participation in projects is encouraged, as long as their involvement is viewed as an opportunity to deepen and apply theoretical knowledge, and not as an opportunity to receive grades for their role; they could, for example, be involved as a mentor, volunteer or in a paid position.

Submissions due:  Monday, April 4, 2016 by 5:00 p.m.
