#HumberAtHome Series – March 30

As we adjust to working and learning at home, it’s important to stay connected to our colleagues and our community. To help keep us all connected, we are launching the #HumberAtHome series. We want to know about how you are taking care of your well-being right now, how your teams are adding a bit of fun into your interactions, and which resources are helping you.

Here are some examples of what members of the Humber community are doing to bring their community together:

Humber Libraries

Taking inspiration from the Spice Girls, who tell us to use the "colours of the world" to "spice up your life", Humber Libraries creatively found material from the Archives (which collects and houses historical material from Humber's 53 years) and spiced them up with some colour. This involved saving archived saved scans, and using an online template, turned them into colouring pages for the team to enjoy. It has proven to be a great stress relief, as they’ve especially been smiling at Harley the Fitness Hawk. Humber Libraries made PDFs for those with printers, and JPEGs for those who wanted to go old school and rock it with Microsoft Paint, and sent them around to the Team. They would like to share with the rest of the Humber Community. Please find two examples attached and email archives@humber.ca for the rest of the files.

Humber Visual Arts

@humbergalleries is putting their Campus as a Canvas online for the month of April. They are doing different weekly calls for artwork on their Instagram Stories. All you have to do is tag them in a story on your profile and they will re-share it to theirs. They are excited to see what everyone has been working on.

Individual Tips from Humber Staff

The Humber community has made several call outs to see how staff are coping with physical distancing:

@lakeshoregrnds Curator, Jennifer shares what she has been doing to stay grounded in her Instagram video.

@sustainhumber Communications & Events Coordinator, Tayler, has been getting crafty at home, check out her new plants.

Please send us your #HumberAtHome photos, video clips and stories to bethany.sharpe@humber.ca.
