#HumberAtHome Series – May 11

As we continue to work and learn at home, it’s important to stay connected to our colleagues and our community. To help keep us all connected, we created the #HumberAtHome series. We want to know about how you are taking care of your well-being right now, how your teams are adding a bit of fun into your interactions, and which resources are helping you.

Etobicoke's The GARDENS will soon reopen and help feed people in need. The GARDENS is working to involve Humber students in managing the pod (garden) sites this year, in the event some pod providers cannot help during the pandemic. Read the full article here for more information and Principal Derek Stockley’s comments on the planned reopening of community gardens and Humber’s role in food security.  

Community Outreach and Workforce Development

COWD is continuing their web series called, "The Newcomerist" in which they speak with business and community leaders to explore practical ways to help prepare newcomers to be more successful in the Canadian workplace. The next episode will May 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. focusing on the Future of Employment Post-COVID. The event is targeted specifically for newcomers to Canada. Register here.
