Introducing Humber's International Student Advisor & Immigration Specialist (ISAIS)/International Graduate Student Advisor & Immigration Specialist (IGSAIS) Team

What is an International Student Advisor & Immigration Specialist/International Graduate School Advisor & Immigration Specialist (ISAIS/IGSAIS) and what do they do?

Did you know that Humber has seven dedicated staff members who work as advisors to international students? They are all licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs), meaning they are legally authorized to advise international students on issues related to immigration applications (eg. Study Permits, Co-op Work Permits, Work Authorization, Post-Graduation Work Permits, etc.). There is no additional cost for international students to access this highly specialized service through the Humber ISAIS/IGSAIS team.

The ISAISs/IGSAIS:

  • Provide non-academic student support and immigration advising to students and immigration counsel to the Humber community
  • Develop, deliver, and support culturally relevant international student programming
  • Lead and support the development of comprehensive international student transition & support plans
  • Mediate international student issues with contacts both inside and outside Humber
  • Can support programs via classroom visits (in-person or virtual)
