Kathy Ullyott, Program Head, Media Studies at UofGH

I am writing to share the news with you that Kathy Ullyott has accepted the role of Program Head, Media Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber (UofGH), effective October 1.

Kathy served as the Assistant Program Head of Media Studies from 2013-18, and in August 2018 she stepped in as Acting Program Head. Over the years, Kathy worked closely with former Media Studies Program Head, Jerry Chomyn, on all aspects of program and curriculum development. Kathy also spearheaded Emerge – a capstone course for fourth-year students, including three magazines, a one-day media conference and related digital, videographic and marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining UofGH, Kathy enjoyed a career as a top-level editor at a number of Canada’s most-read magazines, where she oversaw staff of up to 40 individuals in print, digital, photographic and design roles, managed annual budgets and developed a deep network of media industry contacts.

I hope you will join us in congratulating Kathy on her new role as Program Head at UofGH.

With thanks,

Dr. John Walsh
Vice-Provost & Chief Academic Officer
