Women Economic Forum (WEF) is the world’s largest all inclusive international women’s chamber and a movement for the Welfare, Wealth and Wellbeing of all. They have over 500+ chapters and over 50,000+ members across 150 countries. Dr. Bhimani’s global award honors her contributions to making sustainable change in the lives of marginalized women and communities. In response to receiving the award, Dr. Bhimani stated, “to be known as emblematic for transforming social injustice and to be recognized for it by women around the world is a great honor and responsibility. My peers expect me to continue to step up and step into shaping a just, equitable
and inclusive world in big ways. Part of my work is to uncover and eliminate with others, the normalized biases, hate, barriers and discrimination that women and people of color must confront every day. I want to thank them for reiterating my continued accountability in this.”

Last year, Dr. Bhimani launched Relational, a global institute to enhance social justice, equity and inclusion. As a woman of color social entrepreneur, Salima is trailblazing innovative ways for historically marginalized women to be at the forefront of leading social innovation. Working with institutions and communities so that they reflect equitable, inclusive and healthy human experiences, relationships and systems is central to Dr. Bhimani’s vision and what Relational does.
