Laurie Turner, Associate Dean, The Business School

After 37 years of significant contributions to Humber, Laurie Turner, Associate Dean, has decided to retire at the end of the semester in December.

Laurie first joined Humber as a professor in the fashion careers program in the Business School. She moved on to become Program Coordinator for the Business Management and Business Administration diplomas, and then became the Associate Dean for diploma programs. In her 37 years of service, Laurie has taught, mentored, and graduated thousands of domestic and international students from her programs.

Laurie was instrumental in developing study abroad programming for diploma students in Lyon, France and Quebec. Laurie sat on numerous committees, including the academic framework and sustainability committees and is an integral part of the college community.

Laurie also represented the college on numerous conferences across Canada, and this past summer was crucial in the development of the Business School’s first two collaborative classrooms located on both the North and Lakeshore campuses.

We will miss Laurie. She has worked very hard on behalf of her faculty and students and deserves to enjoy more time with her friends and family.

Please join me in wishing Laurie all the best in her retirement!
