It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Linda Smithies. For many years, Linda was a faculty member in Liberal Arts and Sciences where she taught English Communications and later became a Program Coordinator of General Arts and Science. In more recent years, Linda was a valued member of the Program Planning, Development and Renewal Department focussing on program reviews for every credential across the college. She also achieved two lifelong goals by earning a PhD from OISE in 2015 and visiting Vietnam this past fall. Linda touched the lives of many people in the Humber community who enjoyed working closely with her. Linda's legacy lives on in the countless programs she worked with that help students succeed in their lives. 

Linda's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday January 20, from 2-4 p.m., at Gilbert MacIntyre Funeral Home (Hart Chapel) 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, ON. The celebration will be held in the Fellowship Lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society, New Hope Animal Rescue or the Canadian Cancer Society.
