Dear Colleagues,

It is with great sadness that I share with you the news of the passing of our dear colleague, Dr. Jeoff Bull, professor in our General Arts and Science programs, who passed away on January 2, 2018.

For almost 15 years, Jeoff taught in our General Arts and Science programs where he was first recruited to work with students in both the University and College transfer profiles, assisting them as they transitioned to Humber and inspiring in them a love of learning so that they would then progress on to further post-secondary studies. This is exactly what he did each and every time he walked into a classroom, and as a naturally gifted teacher, he fostered many deep and meaningful relationships with his students. Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to meet several of his former students, and each and every one has commented on the lasting impact that Jeoff had on their decisions to continue with their studies and pursue careers in education.

As a colleague, many have shared stories and examples of his never-ending generosity, kindness, passion, enthusiasm and wit. He was a mentor to many and someone to whom many of our seasoned faculty would turn for advice and support. Over the last few years, many outside of LAS also came to know Jeoff because of the leadership role that he assumed chairing the annual LAS Interdisciplinary Conference Committee. While he did not often seek out the spotlight, he was a natural leader who was able to work collaboratively with everyone he met, inspiring excellence at each and every turn. Even at the most trying times, Jeoff always had a smile on. He will be sorely missed by so many in LAS and at Humber.

On behalf on the entire School of Liberal of Arts and Sciences, please let me share my deepest condolences with his wife Julia and his daughter Charlotte. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and Jeoff's entire family, through this time of sorrow.
