New Cleaning Contractor (Sodexo Canada) Transitioning to Humber on July 1, 2014

After a lengthy and rigorous competitive tender process, Facilities & Capital Development is pleased to announce Sodexo Canada will be assuming the role of managing our cleaning contract at both North and Lakeshore Campuses, as of July 1st 2014. Hurley Corporation has held the contract for the past 17 years, most recently winning the tender process 5 years ago in 2009.

During the process, Facilities & Capital Development took the opportunity to tighten the specifications significantly, adding additional labour in strategic areas including washroom cleaning, Saturday service, and Sunday night cleaning. In keeping with Finance & Administration’s commitment to operational stewardship and service excellence, and further embraced by Humber’s Strategic Plan, performance metrics for service delivery and cleanliness were built into the new contract, with a focus on quality assurance reviews, satisfaction surveys, and action plans to support continuous improvement.

What to expect July 1st, 2014: New uniforms and cleaning equipment, electronic washroom cleaning monitoring technology, increased use of green cleaning products, improved service standards, and a new General Manager position added to the Sodexo on-site organizational structure.
