New Office Ergonomics Training Module

In keeping with Humber’s commitment to provide a safe and healthy working and learning environment, Occupational Health and Safety Services (OHS) has developed a new Office Ergonomics Training Module, which is now posted on the OHS website. This training module informs employees on how to properly set up a safe and comfortable office workstation, and provides an overview of good work practices to prevent potential discomfort and pain. All employees are encouraged to complete the module, which takes approximately 35 minutes.

If you are experiencing discomfort at your workstation, have a documented medical condition, or require general workstation set-up assistance, follow the steps outlined on the Office Ergonomics website:

  1. Complete the Office Ergonomics Self-Assessment Checklist.
  2. Refer to the Tools and Tips information on the website to improve your set-up.
  3. Complete the Office Ergonomics Training Module (via Go1).
  4. If you still require assistance, speak to your manager to arrange an office ergonomics assessment through OHS. We ask you to complete the training module prior to having an assessment performed.

We encourage you to review our Office Ergonomics website which has been updated with additional resources, including stretching resources and remote working resources.

If you have any questions regarding the new office ergonomics resources or the process to have an assessment performed, please speak to your manager or contact OHS (healthandsafety@humber.ca).
