Nivedita Lane, Manager, Community Partnership Development

The Community Outreach and Workforce Development Department is pleased to be welcoming Nivedita Lane to the team as our new Manager of Community Partnership Development. Over the past few years Nivedita has held the position of Coordinator of the First Year Transition Program at Humber College in the Student Success and Engagement Department. In this capacity she has also been responsible for developing and implementing the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Toronto “Pumped for Post-Secondary” program in collaboration with the School of Liberal Arts and Science.

Nivedita brings a strong background in community development and program evaluation. She has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada on National Projects as the Manager of Youth Education Programs and also locally with the Albion Neighbourhood Services in the Rexdale/Jamestown community, in the role of Youth Engagement and Program Coordinator. Among her involvements through this role Nivedita was responsible for overseeing service delivery of education and student success programs and was also the co-chair of the Neighbourhood Action Table in the Rexdale community. In addition to the above experience in community based programing, she has worked as a research assistant with the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth working with the Children’s Program Team.

Nivedita will be bringing both her community based experience and her experience in post-secondary together in this new role. Her educational background consists of a Bachelor of Education and she is in the process of completing her Masters of Education, with a special focus on adult education and community development.

Nivedita will be joining us on September 29th.
