North Campus Construction Update - Building F Addition

April 23, 2014

As enrolment and the demand for a Humber education continues to grow, the college is working to provide students with the facilities and services to help them meet their educational needs.

North Campus improvements in the coming months include an addition to Building F, in which the building will receive approximately 38,000 square feet of extra floor space, as two new storeys are built directly above the existing building.

The addition will house new central classroom spaces and a science suite that serves a variety of programs in the schools of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism, Liberal Arts & Sciences and Health Sciences.

The project is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 26, 2014, and will use a phased, fast-tracked approach in order to be completed by the end of May 2015. Here are the primary details:

  • The entire Building F will be closed from Saturday, April 26, 2014 until Friday, August 15, 2014.
  • Level 1 and 2 of Building F will re-open on Monday, August 18, 2014 and will remain open and occupied from September 2014 to May 2015 (this includes fall orientation and 2014-15 classes as scheduled).
  • Level 3 and 4 of Building F will be under construction until May 2015.
  • Level 3 and 4 of Building F are expected to be open and occupied in spring 2015.

As construction-related traffic and activity around the North Campus will increase over the spring and summer months, we encourage you use caution and allow yourself extra time to travel to and from the college.
