Ontario Colleges Policy Statement on Upholding Free Speech

To the Humber College Community,

A task force of senior leaders from Ontario Colleges have worked together to develop a consistent policy statement on upholding free speech. The policy comes into effect on January 1, 2019 and applies to all Ontario college faculty, students, staff, management, guests and others who are present at all colleges.

Students and employees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the policy.

If students have questions, require further information or wish to report a potential violation of the policy they should contact the Office of Student Conduct.

Employees who have questions, require further information or wish to report a potential violation of the policy should contact their manager or HR business partner.

Existing college mechanisms and processes will be used to investigate complaints and ensure compliance with the policy.
