Paul Michaud, Professor, School of Applied Technology - Retirement

Dear Colleagues:

I would like to announce the retirement at the end of this academic year of a longtime professor in the School of Applied Technology, Professor Paul Michaud.

Paul first joined Humber College as a sessional faculty in 1986 in the Computer Engineering Technology program. He became a full-time faculty member in 1987, and has been influential in the direction of his programs and the School for the past 29 years. Paul served as the PC of the Computer Engineering Technology program twice. Under his leadership the extremely successful Network Support Technician Program was developed.

Prior to joining Humber Paul worked in the geophysics industry supporting and designing microprocessor based instruments for use in oceanographic and mineral exploration. He also worked in the development of credit card verification terminals and robotic integrated circuit testing equipment.

Paul has been a strong advocate on behalf of his fellow faculty as a Union steward since 1989. He has been acting President of the Union on several occasions.

We shall very much miss Professor Michaud as part of our school community and are grateful to him for his service on behalf of his students and his programs.

I hope everyone will join me in thanking Paul at a retirement reception on Friday June 10 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Humber Room) and to wish him well on the next phase of his life on Canada’s west coast.

Warm regards,

Denise Devlin-Li
Dean, School of Applied Technology
