The Placement Centre's Business Networking Event

November 12, 2014

The Business School Placement Centre hosted its annual Student-Employer Business Networking event on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the North Campus in The Seventh Semester. Students in their final semester of the Accounting, Marketing, Management and Administration Diploma programs were invited to an evening event where they could network with over 25 employers.

The event kicked off with Mr. Jeremy James, CPA, CGA, who currently serves as the Manager of Finance Operations at Apotex. Jeremy shared tips on how to transition from college to the workplace and left us feeling inspired by how he networked to find his first entry level position at Apotex. After feeling motivated by Jeremy’s words, the students networked with each employer sitting at their own table. There were several employers including Scotiabank, TJX Canada and Freedom 55 Financial. According to student feedback, students enjoyed making connections with partners in the industry and learning more about their employers of interest. Likewise, employers left with a sense of triumph as many were happy to meet with Humber’s energetic and talented students.

A special thanks to the The Placement Centre team, including Antoniette Di Marco (Manager), Sanjukta Das, Anita Adamek, Allison Scully, Camille Bacaksizlar (Placement Advisors), and to Angella Nunes from Humber’s Career Centre.
