This is a gentle reminder for all individuals responsible for budget management (budget holders) to diligently review their open purchase orders (POs) as the 2023/2024 fiscal year approaches year-end.

It is important to note that any POs that remain open and have a value of $100 or more will automatically be carried forward to the new fiscal year 2024/2025 on April 1, 2024. These carried forward POs will be reflected as encumbrances on the department/faculty 2024/2025 budget, therefore, please ensure to close them if they are no longer valid.

It is crucial for budget holders to be mindful that all invoices received after March 31, 2024 for the carried forward POs will be expensed against the new fiscal year's budget.

Additionally, all other types of POs, including standing orders for 2023/2024 fiscal year, will be closed.

If you have any open regular 'reverse' purchase orders or standing orders for the fiscal year 2023/2024 that need to be closed, kindly submit a request to Financial Services at purchasing@humber.ca.
