SDGs Launch Brings Together Local Youth and Humber Students

On March 22 and 23, more than 100 Humber College and University of Guelph-Humber students, along with local high school youth, joined 8,000 students from Canada who attended the virtual SDGs Launch.

Students earned a certificate for the training they received, which included keynote speeches from United Nations representatives, an overview of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and the opportunity to practice systems-thinking and develop solutions for interconnected local and global issues.

The Office of Sustainability and the Community Outreach & Workforce Development coordinating committee (Tayler Buchanan, Lindsay Walker, Nivedita Lane and Lara McInnis) would like to thank the Humber staff and faculty who dedicated their to make this event a success, as well as staff and admin from West Humber C.I., TDSB.
