Thinking Outside the Box Workshop

Continuing Education with the School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism proudly welcomed the Delta Family Resource Centre on Wednesday, July 5th for the first day of its “Thinking Outside the Box” workshop. The main objective of this program is to give high school students who experience barriers in their lives that might prevent them from going to post-secondary education an opportunity to experience college. Continuing Education with the School of HRT aims to inform students about the different programs offered and inspire students to pursue post-secondary education.

This workshop is a series of culinary skills classes, giving students the opportunity to work with high level chefs in professional settings, while allowing them to explore unique career options. As part of the program, this group of students learns to prepare their own dough, pizza sauce and ultimately a pizza meal to enjoy. The next session with this group occurs on Wednesday, July 12.
