The Government of Ontario recently announced a $50 million investment in the Virtual Learning Strategy and a call for Expressions of Interest for members of the eCampusOntario Consortium to create eligible content.
The investment is intended to ensure Ontario students can access quality, uncompromised post-secondary virtual learning and will improve Ontario-based virtual learning programming that is digital by design. The vision is for Ontario to be a global leader in virtual learning.
The one-time funding has a one-step application process and EOI guidance including full documentation describing each category, an application template and evaluation criteria are available here. Funds will be distributed under five categories:
- Digital Content
- Digital Capacity Targeted Supports
- Digital Capacity Collaborative Supports
- Digital Fluency
- Digital Delivery
Applications must come from the institution and are due February 3, 2021. Humber is taking a coordinated approach to its submissions and any faculty with an idea for a proposal should contact their senior dean to discuss by EOD Thursday, January 14.
