Volcanic Eruption in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

On Friday, April 9, the volcano on St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean, La Soufriere, erupted. This eruption is still ongoing and is creating a humanitarian crisis.

We have staff, students, and graduates who are from this island nation in the Caribbean. If you would like to assist in the relief effort, please find the information below that indicates the items needed and where donations can be sent.

La Soufrière Volcano Relief Effort

KLC Shippers in Toronto has agreed to offer free storage and shipment of relief supplies from Canada to the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO). Thank you very much Ken Chitole for your continued support.

The Office of the Consulate General of SVG in Toronto and the diaspora groups in Canada will discuss further efforts needed in a timely manner.

Iitems needed:

Folding cots, blankets, tents 10x10 or 20x20 ft, sleeping mats, respirator masks with filters, goggles, reflective vests, caution tape, hygiene kits, food (non-perishable), clothing (new), 5 gallon buckets.
