Community Conversation with Indigenous Artist Teddy Syrette

The 2SLGBTQ+ ERG invites you to an online workshop on May 13 about the intersection of 2SLGBTQ+ and Indigenous identities.

On May 13, the 2SLGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (ERG) will be hosting an online workshop exploring the intersection of Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ identities. All members of the Humber community and beyond are invited to attend.

In this one-hour community conversation, Teddy Syrette (they/them) will allow participants to learn/review more about 2-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/trans, queer/questioning (2SLGBTQ+) experiences, histories, and communities.

This conversation will have a particular focus on Indigenous perspectives on 2-Spirit, Indigi-Queer and QTIPP (Queer-Trans Indigenous Person or People). Teddy will use storytelling, information giving, and will utilize ‘word cloud exercises’ for group sharing activities.

The event is free, but interested participants are asked to register with EventBrite.

If you need any further information about the event, please contact Matthew Harris (matthew.harris@humber.ca) or Jasman Singh (jasman.singh@humber.ca).
