The Faculty of Media, Creative Arts & Design and Black Student Support & Engagement are thrilled to announce a unique international opportunity for our students! In January 2025, a select group of students will have the chance to attend the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), the most powerful tech event in the world, in Las Vegas.
About the Trip
From January 7-10, 2025, students will have the chance to explore cutting-edge technology at not only the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) but also Sphere and Omega Mart, providing inspiration to create innovative concepts and prototypes for the Canadian Black History Experience—a performance project led by Clarence Ford, founder of Square Circle, a non-profit organization using circus arts to tell stories.
Clarence will act as a mentor for the students throughout the trip, offering guidance and insight as they develop their ideas. This collaboration not only allows students to immerse themselves in the latest technological innovations but also gives them the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful performance celebrating Canadian Black History.
Why You Should Apply:
- Exposure to global tech trends and creative industries
- Direct mentorship from Clarence Ford and leaders in the multi-media industry
- Hands-on experience in creating innovative prototypes
- Potential Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities
- Enrichment of your current academic studies
Instructors please share this opportunity with your students.
This trip is a rare opportunity to blend technology, culture, and history. We encourage students, particularly students who identify as Black, to apply and take advantage of this incredible experience.
