Health-Supportive Masculinities and Building a Safer Campus Community

Workshop details

Delivered by the Centre for Sexuality, a community-based organization in Alberta, this interactive and thought-provoking workshop invites participants to explore how everyday messages about masculinity influence campus culture — including how they may contribute to sexual violence, silence around consent, and unhealthy relationship dynamics. 

Participants will: 

  • Unpack common myths and pressures tied to masculinity 
  • Explore how gender norms affect consent, communication, and bystander action 
  • Practice strategies to interrupt harmful peer dynamics 
  • Identify concrete ways to promote respect, accountability, and healthy relationships 
  • Strengthen their role in building a safer campus environment
