Humber Allies are Invited to the Pride Literary Panel

Humber College’s 2SLGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group and the Humber Literary Review present its annual Pride Literary Panel. The panel will take place online on June 21 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Humber College’s annual Pride Literary Panel honours and celebrates the work of a number of acclaimed Canadian queer writers. This year’s panel includes five renowned and critically acclaimed authors. They are listed below:

  • Rev. Dr. Cheri DiNovo, C.M., United Church Minister, former NDP MPP (The Queer Evangelist – A Socialist Clergy’s Radically Honest Tale)
  • Daniel Allen Cox (I Felt the End Before It Came – Memoirs of a Queer Ex-Jehovah’s Witness)
  • Nick Green (Casey & Diana; Body Politic)
  • Nisha Patel (Coconut; A Fate Worse Than Death)
  • Michael Rowe (Wild Fell; Enter, Night; Pride)

Each of the participating authors will share an excerpt from their most recent work and anecdotes about their writing careers, as it pertains to their queer identity and addressing 2SLGBTQ+ issues in their work. Attendees will have the opportunity to join in the conversation with the authors and panelists.

All members of the Humber community are invited to the event. The event will be hosted by Vince J. Ciarlo (vincej.ciarlo@humber.ca). If you have any questions, please contact the host. The event is free, and it will be held virtually via Teams.
