Humber Hosts Cannabis Entrepreneurship Event for BIPOC Community

We are excited to announce an upcoming event that underscores our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging at Humber and in the emerging legal cannabis industry. On April 30, we will host ‘Become a Cannabis CEO,’ an event aimed at empowering Black, Indigenous, and people of colour (BIPOC) to enter or progress their careers in the cannabis industry.

The event, which includes dinner, will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in G Commons at the Lakeshore Campus. It’s a collaborative effort between The Centre for Social Innovation (CSI), The Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE), The SEED Initiative, and Dr. Yazmin Razack, the Dean of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEDIB).

The evening will feature an entrepreneurial skills-building session, a keynote talk, a panel discussion, and a networking session. While the event targets BIPOC communities, it is open to all interested.

Even if you won’t be able to attend, we encourage you to share this information with anyone who might be interested. This is a great opportunity to learn from industry leaders, build entrepreneurial skills, and network with like-minded individuals.

Let’s come together to support diversity and inclusion in the cannabis industry. We look forward to seeing you there!
