IGNITE Real Talks

IGNITE is excited to announce Real Talks taking place on Monday, March 8 at 7 p.m. with Sophia Amoruso and Ruth E. Carter! Just in time for International Women’s Day, we’ll be chatting with these two powerful women about their journey to success and to get some advice on how students can succeed in their career, too.

Amoruso is a serial entrepreneur, best-selling author, and the inspiration behind the Netflix original show, GirlbossGirlboss follows Amoruso’s journey to launching her first business, Nasty Gal – an eBay side hustle turned multi-million-dollar business. Since launching Nasty Gal, Amoruso has wrote a New York Times bestseller and has continued her entrepreneurial ventures with her latest project – Business Class, an online course dedicated to helping other entrepreneurs launch successful businesses.

And that’s not all.

Ruth E. Carter will also be joining us! If you don’t recognize her name, you’ll definitely recognize her costumes. She is a Hollywood costume designer responsible for the costume designs of your favourite movies, like Black Panther, which earned her an Oscar win and helped her make history as the first African American to win an Oscar in that category. Carter has also recently become the first Black costume designer and second costume designer to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Carter’s upcoming costume designs and work will soon be premiered in the upcoming film Coming 2 America.
