Implicit Race Bias and Faculty Practice

Presenter bio:

Arlo Kempf is the Director of the Master of Teaching Program, at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning. Dr. Kempf received his PhD from OISE in 2011, followed by a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship (2011-13) and Visiting Scholar appointment (2013-15) at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Arlo's research interests include anti-racism in education, critical perspectives on educational standardization and neoliberalism in comparative perspective, and decolonizing education.

Arlo is currently the Principal Investigator for a project titled Mitigating Race Bias in Teacher Professional Practices, a study with alternative secondary school teachers in Toronto.
