Registration is now open for the Indigenous Knowledge Gathering 2019, Building Resurgence, on January 17-19, 2019. Bringing together a diverse array of educators, practitioners, scholars, students and members of Indigenous communities, the Indigenous Knowledge Gathering provides a safe space to think about and actively engage in meaningful conversations about the role and inherent responsibilities of education. The objectives of the Indigenous Knowledge Gathering are as follows:

  • Provide opportunities for cross-institutional dialogue, partnership, and collaboration;
  • Celebrate practices, policies, programs, and strategies that support improved policy, research, practice and leadership in Indigenous education; and to
  • Consider the importance of cultural revitalization and resurgence in education.

Together we will initiate an inclusive dialogue that engages Elders, community members, youth, staff, postsecondary students and faculty members. If possible, please print the attached poster to your community board and classes. Featured speakers include:

  • Elder Jim Dumont (Creation Story Teaching)
  • Sarain Fox
  • Jeff Corntassel
