On January 22, 2024, the Canadian government announced a temporary two-year cap on international student study permits.
There will be a cap of 364,000 approved study permits this year across Canada.
Current international students who are already studying and have approved permits are not impacted by this announcement. Study permit renewals are also not impacted by the announcement.
Humber does not have a public-private partnership and international students approved to study at Humber remain eligible to apply for post-graduate work permits after they have completed their studies.
We are working to assess the impact of this announcement on Humber and students wishing to study at Humber in future terms. We will share updates as they become available.
