Presenter: Sonia Thakur, Accessibility Services Consultant

Sonia is an educator for more than 10 years with expertise in equity and diversity issues, accessibility and universal design for learning, human resources and teaching.

She holds a license in Psychology from Argentina and is a Canadian Human Resources Professional who has worked both in the United States and Canada in higher education. In her career, Sonia has been invested in understanding challenges to academic success of students with different abilities and implementing practices to foster an inclusive environment for all students.

In her current role as an Accessibility Consultant, she provides services for students with disabilities on an ongoing basis, liaises and provides training to faculty about Accessibility topics, facilitates the social group for students with Autism Spectrum, and is the co-chair of the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee. Sonia has been invested in inclusive practices in education around the world including South America, the United States and Canada.
