L&D Workshop - Questioning Techniques

Do you spend too much time asking questions to get the answer you’re looking for? We usually blame the receiver of the question for not knowing how to answer our question, when in reality we’re not asking the right type of question.

This workshop will explore the various types of questions and their application. Knowing what type of question to ask not only saves time, it develops relationships, which can enhance our work and personal lives. Effective communication includes questioning appropriately for the situation you are involved in. Learn to eliminate stress by simply asking the right type of question.

Upon completion of this workshop, you should be able to:

  • identify four different types of questions
  • determine the purpose of each type of question and their applications
  • identify hazards to avoid when asking questions
  • demonstrate effective questioning skills.
