National Sweater Day

Date/Time:
February 9, 2012

Is it cold in here? Wear a sweater!
Humber is turning down the temperature on Thursday, February 9 in:

  • North Campus cafeteria (KB/KX student centre area)
  • Lakeshore Building L cafeteria
  • HSF areas

Humber's approach to energy efficiency is that it's a long term strategy not a one day event. About 5 years ago we adopted a policy to permanently lower our set points in the winter from 23 to 21

In the summer our temperatures are set to 25 instead or 22 or even 21, in other buildings. The energy savings are hard to pinpoint, but we have lowered our energy use per square foot by 16.5% since 2005.

What you can do for National Sweater Day:

  • Wear a sweater (the uglier the better). Tweet your photo @ #SweaterDay or Facebook.
  • Donate to online to World Wildlife Fund. Coca Cola will double your donation until March 15, 2012.
  • Buy chocolate bars for WWF in Lakeshore L building at lunch Thursday Feb, 9th.
  • Turn down the temperature at home.
  • Talk about climate change and energy issues in class, at breaks, and everywhere else.
  • Book a Granny Call online.
  • Humber Fundraising grad students challenge you to participate.
