National Tree Day Planting Event with the Humber Arboretum

Please join us in celebrate National Tree Day by joining us for a morning of planting native trees and shrubs at the Humber Arboretum! This event will take place on Wednesday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at the newly revitalized Humber Pond* at North Campus in the Arboretum.

This planting event is a perfect activity for Humber College classes, staff, community groups, individuals and families - all are welcome to attend! All equipment and materials are provided and no experience is necessary. Humber Arboretum and City of Toronto staff will provide an introduction and the City will provide a planting demonstration. Afterwards volunteers are able to plant at their own pace under the supervision of city staff.

Volunteers should dress for the weather, wear comfortable clothing they don't mind getting dirty, long pants, and bring sunscreen and drinking water. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes. The event site does not have washroom facilities, although participants are welcome to use the nearby washrooms at Humber College’s CTI building. Please plan accordingly.

If you're a group of 10 or more, please register in advance. Space may be limited for large groups. Please email greentoronto@toronto.ca for more information, location details, or to register.

*The Humber Pond is located near the intersection of Humber College Blvd and Hwy 27. Follow signs to the event site from Parking Lot 4, found east of the bus loop.
