President's Lecture Series: "How to Get Paid in the Knowledge Economy: Literacy, Authority and Street Smarts"

Thursday, January 24, 2013 - 1:00pm

Date: Thursday, January 24, 2013

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Location: North Campus, Seventh Semester (KB111)

Featuring Jesse Hirsh, broadcaster, internet stretgist, technology critic.

"The knowledge economy remains a nebulous concept, which can make it difficult to get paid in that economy. Yet there are growing numbers of people who are getting paid, and not always for the right reasons. Increasingly we're seduced to give up our privacy without realizing the value of our personal information. In this lecture, Jesse Hirsh will argue that we must think critically about the opportunities before us so we can be the ones to get paid, instead of exploited."

This event is complimentary. Everyone welcome! Teachers are encouraged to bring their classes. When bringing classes to lectures, please RSVP. Please contact Melanie Chaparian.
