Pride Literary Panel

Humber College’s 2SLGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group and the Humber Literary Review present its annual Pride Literary Panel.

Humber College’s annual Pride Literary Panel honours and celebrates the work of a number of acclaimed Canadian queer writers. This year’s panel includes five renowned and critically acclaimed authors:

  • Brian Francis (Missed Connections, Break in Case of Emergency)
  • Ken Harvey (The Book of Casey Adair, A Passionate Engagement)
  • Joie Lamar (Mambo Lips, Salsa Hips, Sapphoetry)
  • Robbie Ahmed (Healing Manifesto for Brown Parents, Snake Skin)
  • Trisha Gregorio (Rest Day, Song Forgotten, Playing Referee in Catholicism vs. Queerness)

Each of the participating authors will share an excerpt from their most recent work and share anecdotes about their writing careers, as it pertains to their queer identity and addressing 2SLGBTQ+ issues in their work. Attendees will have the opportunity to join in the conversation with the authors and panelists.

The event will be hosted by Vince J. Ciarlo (vincej.ciarlo@humber.ca) and Michael Butac (michael.butac@humber.ca). If you have any questions, please contact the hosts.

The event is free, and it will be held virtually via Zoom.
