Principal's Office Wellness Wednesdays Series - Affirmations

The Principal's Office at Humber Lakeshore Campus, in partnership with the Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness Team, is excited for the Principal's Office Employee Wellness Series for all Humber staff. The fourth session is about affirmations and creating a personal accountability practice. It is being led by Sondos Parker.

Positive affirmations are mantras that you repeat to yourself, which describe a specific outcome or who you want to be. This Facilitator led session will guide you in personal reflection to create a personal accountability practice as your plan for healthy lifestyle habits for the New Year.

Workshop Structure

The session will begin at 12:05 p.m. with an interactive presentation and activity to support positive habits around daily, weekly and monthly affirmations.

Facilitator Bio

Sondos Parker started her career in event planning at the Scientific Center in Kuwait, the first cultural and scientific hub of its kind in the Middle East Region. Shortly after moving to Canada, she worked at the Power Within Inc. in Toronto, She travelled within Canada as part of the logistics team to organize events for some of the world’s most influential leaders including President Clinton, Richard Benson, and Gloria Steinem to name a few. She then transitioned to the Non-profit sector where she managed various projects including poverty reduction, immigrants and refugee settlement, and violence prevention initiatives for more than 10 years.

In January 2020, she joined Humber College as the Field Placement Coordinator for the Bachelor of Behavioural Science and the Bachelor of Community Development programs. She brings a blend of skills, experience, and passion to empower students and help them visualize the possibilities as they prepare for their future careers. She has a deep love for Gibran and Rumi’s poetry and in her downtime, she can be found in her studio creating whimsical and colourful stained-glass art.
