Join Humber Galleries for a screening of The Short Films of Mark Pariselli and a discussion between Mark and exhibition curator Adam Moco.

Divergent Desires: The Short Films of Mark Pariselli

With an alternative authorial voice, Mark Pariselli explores themes of sexuality, identity and acceptance in his work as a writer and director. Based in Toronto, he earned a BFA Honours in Film Production from York University, graduating with the distinction of magna cum laude. His debut short film After screened at over 40 international film festivals spanning 19 countries, was shortlisted for the Iris Prize (2009) and won the Best Short Film Award at the 2011 Sicilia Queer Film Festival. Pariselli’s other internationally screened and acclaimed short films include the experimental works Kiss, Pigeon Hole, and Necromantic and the narrative dramas Frozen Roads, Severed, and Monster Mash. Retrospective programs of Pariselli’s short films have been presented in Toronto and Sicily and he is currently developing his first feature length film.
