Hot Pop Factory
Hot Pop Factory is a design studio that specializes in the creative application of digital fabrication techniques like 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining. Founded by architecture graduates Biying Miao and Matthew Compeau in 2012, Hot Pop Factory merges high-tech manufacturing with creative design to produce bespoke, custom products and artwork. Examples of their work can be found in some of Canada’s foremost cultural institutions including the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Founder, Hot Pop Factory
Matt Compeau is a co-founder of Hot Pop Factory and is responsible for the development of the company’s technology and business strategy. After studying architecture at the University of Waterloo, he graduated with Honours and joined Cannon Design. There Compeau developed software algorithms used to generate the design of large scale architectural projects, a skill and passion that led him to found Hot Pop Factory, a design studio specializing in the creative application of digital manufacturing techniques like 3D printing.
